Exhibition Proposal

Dichotomies is a body of work which displays photographs in a diptych form.
I will show 13” x 19” paired archival prints floated in a white frame. The subject is the space between adjacent homes in the suburban midwest. The goal is to represent similarities and differences, the houses becoming portraits of a sort. What often unifies the separate yards is the landscape itself, manicured but ultimately wild. During pandemic and politically charged times, these neighbors could be at odds. Yet, the pastoral context bridges divisions.
